Si3 (Social Impact Investment in Israel) is UJIA’s innovative initiative that is changing philanthropy in Israel. Si3 uses a cutting-edge approach to drive social change in Israel and creatively engage funders in the UK who have not previously directed their philanthropic efforts towards Israel. Si3 invests in projects that provide high value social impact and a financial return to better advance UJIA’s goal of strengthening vulnerable communities in Israel. Si3 invests in initiatives that promote and support educational, employment and community development of these communities.
Si3 investees repay the investments made in them enabling Si3 to redeploy to other initiatives, ensuring your funding continues to have ongoing impact.
To date, Si3 has invested in 28 social impact projects, in areas like urban regeneration, micro-finance and vocational training and employment for youth-at-risk, Druze, Ethiopian, Bedouin and Ultra-Orthodox. Si3 is the most active Jewish community-led impact investment portfolio in the Israel ecosystem, and is generating an evergreen pool of capital for social change.

UJIA established Si3 to create a lasting and expanding impact in Israel by investing in organisations that generate sustainable, measurable social change alongside financial returns. Our approach revolves around recyclable capital—each investment is not just a one-time contribution but a catalyst for ongoing transformation. By reinvesting returns, we amplify the impact, ensuring that every pound does more, in perpetuity.
Si3 aligns with UJIA’s core mission: improving education, generating employment, and strengthening communities. It represents a shift in how the Diaspora engages with Israel—moving beyond traditional philanthropy to a model where every investment fuels future opportunities. By participating in Israel’s growing social impact ecosystem, donors don’t just give; they become active partners in shaping a better future, deepening their connection to Israel while driving meaningful, scalable change for its most vulnerable populations.
