The National Organization for Victims of Terror (NOVT) is the longest standing non-profit organisation supporting victims of terror and their families in Israel. NOVT advocates, navigates, heals and helps victims and their families.
Their loan fund helps victims apply for funding to cover basic costs such as electricity and food bills, home adaptations and other immediate needs. This is often particularly needed in the year following the terror attack to help victims get back on their feet, when many are not working. The combination of zero interest loans and automatic loan repayments (thanks to NOVT working with Israel’s National Insurance Institute) makes NOVT a unique offering for those that need the help the most. Recovery from a terror attack is a lifelong battle, and victims may often find themselves in periods where they are unable to work, or need a small loan to purchase items that will drastically improve their quality of life.
Following the attacks of October 7th, NOVT is expecting their membership to grow from around 3,000 to at least 15,000 people. It is anticipated that this significant increase, will result in additional requests for loans, and NOVT has therefore taken the decision to grow their loan capital. They anticipate being able to meet demand and service another 1 million NIS of loan capital using their current staff resources before needing to expand their infrastructure.
